My knight in shining armour turned out to be a cutie-pie in tinfoil who happens to have ulcerative colitis… (Woo. That’s a mouthful.)

Name: Rasheed Clarke
Nickname (available to me only):
Rash, Rasheezy, Stud Muffin, 연인
Disease: inability to stop being cool
(oh and the ulcerative colitis)

What is the purpose of this blog?

Once, at a loss, I Googled “What can I do to help my boyfriend with Ulcerative Colitis?”  Now I stand on the other side of the search, here to offer help and to encourage those who are in a relationship with someone who has UC.

For a lot, if not all, of the people with the shittiest chronic disease — pun intended — depression, embarrassment, worry and anxiety are common associates of the disease. My boyfriend would agree. What kills me about his disease are not the cancelled dates or missed phone calls, but how upset he gets at himself for being sick.

I constantly remind him that it’s not his fault and that he is no less wonderful because he’s sick. But he forgets.

Although I cannot blog about what it’s like to live with Ulcerative Colitis since I don’t have it (plus, my boyfriend has already written about it in his book “Three Tablets Twice Daily“), I can write about what it’s like to live with someone who lives with the disease, to educate people.

I have, of course, my boyfriend’s permission to divulge our stories to the entire online world. In fact, he encouraged, pushed, and demanded for me to write about this subject (lest I write on something I don’t care about).

Caution: I don’t know how sappy this web log will get. Prepare a bucket, either for tears or for vomit.
